                               Our Second Annual

           Autism Mentorship Fishing Event

                       Is In The Books

Sunday May 21st 2017 we held our second annual Autism Mentorship Fishing Event at Longview Lake in Lee's Summitt, Mo. This year doubled the number we had in 2016. A perfect day for the event. We would like to thank Betty Sharp with her Autism Outreach Foundation, David Bass of Longview Lake Marina, Bass Pro Shops who provided Life Jackets, Jackie Scott who took care of so many details when I was 220 miles away, Jim and Pam Wining with ACTS Media for believing in our dream 2 years ago when no one believed you could take Autism to the water. It's humbling at the end of the day to see not only how you touch their lives and bring a new venture to Special Needs but how they touch your life in return. A day I very much enjoyed! Taking a first boat ride for so many, seeing them catch their first fish, and seeing us all make new friends. I really cannot put into words what the event means to me. Rewarding!! As the day came to a close we was asked to start planning the Third Annual Autism Mentorship Fishing Event and we will bring it back to Longview Lake in 2018!! I look forward to seeing how we can make 2018 even better. I have to give a special Thank You to four young people David Bass had working at the marina Sunday. The two young ladies working in the store at the dock and the two young men who helped each and every Special Needs person onto and off of the pontoon boat went above and beyond all day long. They all assisted with anything and everything. If you are looking for a lake in the Kansas City area to go to and fish or just spend a day on the water, give David a call at the marina and tell him we Highly Recommend his facility and staff.
